Teeth... they are coming through!!!

Hey everyone,

Mommy has been doing a fabulous job keeping everyone a bit up to speed but it is about time that daddy write something on the blog so here goes :)

The past couple of months have been fabulous, it is so great to see our "little" human transform from a baby into more and more of a person that we can interact with...very exciting!

He goes through all sorts of stages all sorts of little things that make it so awesome to be around him; let me try and give you a couple of examples so you can enjoy with us :)

Wake up and Smiiiiiillleeeeeeee Stage :) This is such a great part of the day; early in the morning the first thing the little man does is send us a great big toothless smile which just brightens any day instantly. I hope this will remain the same for ever, it really melts your heart seeing a beautiful little baby face light up when it sees you... FAN-TAS-TIC!

The farting stage.. this is absolutely hilarious; besides the fact that our little man has no issues with passing wind he now also has picked up the habit to try and find a piece of skin on either of the parents and to use that as his personal "fart with the mouth" are as cunningly displayed in the following short film staring Tuwhakairiora Daniel Engels and Iritana Mereana Marie Bristowe


Our little man is doing so great, he is growing like he is in a hurry and this morning I felt the first indication of teeth coming through (which would explain why he kept waking up every 30 minutes last night :) :) which is extremely exciting for some reason... his toothless smile is SO endearing :D







Then we also have "let's go and check out stuff" baby who happily races through the house and grabs everything he can get his hands on. Especially cables and drawers catch his attention... I managed to capture some proof...










But then, as soon as he realized he was being watched he gave me the look of complete innocence of course :)


Having the Human in our lives has been the best thing that I believe has happened to either of us... the man rocks, daddy is tired... baby is waking up, mommy wants to go to bed, time to log off and do some more tomorrow... also my typewriter genius can make this post look at least half decent.

Tuwhakairiora in the Walker

Hi all, we thought that it would be nice to see some updated footage of Tuwhakairiora running around in his walker. He is doing so well, still has a little cough, enjoying kohanga and time with mum and dad. Both Bo and I are LOVING being his parents - we have got him into some sort of routine... eating well and entertained. His mummy has bought him a few books to read to him... currently Tuwhakairiora learns Maori during the day, Dutch from daddy when he gets home... a bit gaa gaa goo goo's mixed with English at home. He is going to be a well versed boy. We are pretty full on at the moment, moving and selling our house and looking for somewhere else to stay (in Wellington)... then hopefully in a couple years make the big leap to Europe to be closer to the Engels tribe. Our boy is healthy, full of smiles and growing more and more each day, we wish you were here... and count down the days till we see you again. Love lots, the NZ base Engels family

Quicktroduction of our Long awaited boy, Tu!

Hi Everyone!! This is just a very quick post of daddy to show the family and friends in Europe what our boys looks like. I will be jumping back onto the blog to tell about the birth and all the other things that have happened ever since the last Sunday of November 2009 around 04:00 in the morning :) Now for some quickly converted movies! Some material from Tu and Dad during a feed top up, due to the mild Jaundice that Tu appears to be having he needs to receive additional UV as well as top-up feeding to ensure the Bilirubin levels in the blood get regulated. Jaundice is a very common new born thing and nothing to worry about if you treat it as said above and we are, he is not yellow as they check preemptively and as such never got the chance to :) Please forgive a father for his madness inducing "brabble" :) Both Iritana and I are extremely happy in love with our baby boy and once we are back home (Iritana needs to recover a little more and Tu needs to be cleared off UV tre...
