OUR boy is nearly 1!!!

Image
Its about 6 Days until we celebrate the arrival of our gorgeous lil human Tuwhakairiora Daniel Engels... speaking of the devil (as he attacks the laptop). Just to keep you all well informed: - we have about 8 TEETH - speed crawling - opening drawers and cupboards and throwing pots & pans around - has walked on his own a few times and can pull himself up over all the furniture - is STILL fricken CUTE as a button We are having a few close family and friends attend his birthday at Te Papa, so we are superSTOKED to have our young man in our lives. We were also very lucky to have Opa Engels come to New Zealand with Leo and spend time with us. It is also a very special time for us, as Agnes is going to be here anytime soon. Well nothing much else to add, talk soon - here is a small clip of our attempt to walk.

Teeth... they are coming through!!!

Hey everyone, Mommy has been doing a fabulous job keeping everyone a bit up to speed but it is about time that daddy write something on the blog so here goes :) The past couple of months have been fabulous, it is so great to see our "little" human transform from a baby into more and more of a person that we can interact with...very exciting! He goes through all sorts of stages all sorts of little things that make it so awesome to be around him; let me try and give you a couple of examples so you can enjoy with us :) Wake up and Smiiiiiillleeeeeeee Stage :) This is such a great part of the day; early in the morning the first thing the little man does is send us a great big toothless smile which just brightens any day instantly. I hope this will remain the same for ever, it really melts your heart seeing a beautiful little baby face light up when it sees you... FAN-TAS-TIC! The farting stage.. this is absolutely hilarious; besides the fact that our little man has no issues with...

a lil baby for daddy

Since Daddy is away in Sydney for a week, we are finding it hard to see Daddy... or catch him during his breaks, as they seem to coincide with Tuwhakairiora's naps and/or he is at Kohanga. I have included a few small clip taken tonight for you Daddy, he woke up just after we hung up from you. He is really happy to be back at Kohanga, his bout with conjunctivitis is nearly over, we have just about cleared up all the fluid in his ear, his medication is fixed. Inhalers are going well, he seems to have a bit more base in his voice. The coughing is coming less frequent, which results in more sleep for all of us. Everyday we are completely amazed to have to have Tuwhakairiora in our lives, he is rather cute. Alright, another clip of him running around after the camera, not too much content this time around. Hope we get to see you soon, 7-months in a week... still no teeth, crawling seems to annoy him - but you can see he LOVES his walker. ciao ciao for now, LOVE you DADDY - we miss you ...

more and more videos of Tuwhakairiora

Well, I am getting used to quickly capturing all the moments our awesome goes through and then uploading them for all the world to see. Everything is going swell here in the cold of Aotearoa, we had a doctors appointment - our lil LARGE boy is growing well... we have upgraded his inhaeler to a preventative one, and got more of the Ventolin one. There is thankfully no infection, perhaps an irritation - a little fluid in his right ear - so we have our first antibiotics :( so hopefully he will be on the mend soon. We are usually online from 7:30am - 8:30am Central European Summer Time (CEST) +0200 UTC ... or around the same time Sunday morning. Hope you enjoy the posts and the videos from us here to you there

OUR 6-month old awesome!!!

WOW 6-months has flown by so quickly... in about 2 weeks he is going to be 7-months so I thought that it's about time that we show you how is doing... and what he is up to. He is really getting around the house in his walker - following his mama and papi everywhere. Tuwhakairiora, still has a fascination for the rubbish bin... so its constantly kept up high. Tu, has managed to start opening up all the cupboards, doors and putting anything into his mouth (fantastic) as we havent quite got around to putting safety clips on everything. We have re-design the house layout, so that he can zoom in and out of every corner. As we speak, he is deep into the pot drawer... when he screams I know that he has jammed his finger... again! He has started screaming, crying and talking a lot more... so that we know that he is around - and still full of giggles. He has also taken a fancy to biting all of daddy's cords. He is not too much trouble... and is really easy to take care of. He alw...

Tuwhakairiora in the Walker

Hi all, we thought that it would be nice to see some updated footage of Tuwhakairiora running around in his walker. He is doing so well, still has a little cough, enjoying kohanga and time with mum and dad. Both Bo and I are LOVING being his parents - we have got him into some sort of routine... eating well and entertained. His mummy has bought him a few books to read to him... currently Tuwhakairiora learns Maori during the day, Dutch from daddy when he gets home... a bit gaa gaa goo goo's mixed with English at home. He is going to be a well versed boy. We are pretty full on at the moment, moving and selling our house and looking for somewhere else to stay (in Wellington)... then hopefully in a couple years make the big leap to Europe to be closer to the Engels tribe. Our boy is healthy, full of smiles and growing more and more each day, we wish you were here... and count down the days till we see you again. Love lots, the NZ base Engels family

Ola people, just thought that I would quickly share with you the most recent pics of our cutie human.  Mum and Dad are constantly trying to find clothes to fit Tuwhakairiora, and have found a solution, we buy for a todler! Tuwhakairiora, enjoys Kohanga Reo  (Day Care) a lot.  He loves his teachers, and enjoys the waiata (songs), etahi kanikani (dancing) and haka.  He has met a lot of distant cousins, and family through the Kohanga Reo, and is well tought is his mama's Ngati Porou dialect.  He always has a GREAT big smile on his face when he is dropped off in the morning - and is completely pooped at the end of the day... and ready for his last kai (food) before bed time at 7pm. Both Bo, and I are completely in LOVE with our baby, and glad we can spend more time with him - glorifying him.  Its getting into Winter here in New Zealand, and we are wrapping the baby up nice and warm.  The house is super cosy, so that we keep all the coughs and colds at...
